HHEEEEYYYYYY THERE SPORTS FANS!!!!!!!!!

We’re here in the subterranean stadium of Skavenblight to bring you the match between the two division leaders the Aristorats and the Granitebeard Grumblers. Last time these two teams met, the game ended in a nail-biting draw, so let’s see what there is in store today. Though it looks like the Grumblers have called in some favours and joining them from the big leagues is Grim Ironjaw!

Being underground there isn’t much weather here, but the warp stone looks somewhat stable and is giving off good light to see by, well at least if you are a dwarf or a rat. Speaking of dwarfs at rats, the ticket rats are up to the roof literally with a whopping sixteen thousand fans, and boy the noise is deafening. (Cheering fans - Perfect Pass – Skaven)

1st Half

There is the coin toss and the Aristorats are choosing to kick. Aristorats have set up with linerats on the scrimmage line, blitzers and gutter runners to the wings, with remaining line rat, gutter runner and thrower in a line behind rat ogre Theodore. Grumblers respond with blockers on scrimmage line, slayers and blitzers to flank and runners in a line covering the back field.

There’s the kick, Flint is already running and cradles the ball with ease.

The Grumblers are starting off hitting hard with Albert and Cuthbert being sent to the dug out seeing stars leaving the Aristo’s scrimmage line a little thin. Flint seeing the holes creating runs forward whilst the Grumblers start forming around him.

With a roar of fury Theo rains blow against Thror. He’s stayed on his feet but has given ground, Theo is within reach of Flint. Monty runs into the corridor created by Theo, but his tail is snagged and is brought down and is winded.
The Grumblers have formed around Theo and Thror returns a blow against Theo knocking hi to the floor. Grim charges and slams Percy to the floor, sending him reeling and eating dirt.

Theo is back up trying to gain his bearings. Tarquin is up and barging Straldur back away from the edge of the pitch. It looks like Francis is moving to intercept Flint.

Thror is back on Theo and with some help has managed a blow that has got Theo being dragged off the pitch out cold. The Aristorats are down by three players now and with their heavy hitter out for the count they’ll have to do something to slow the Grumblers’ rumble. But with Barnaby being taken down by Gotrimm, only five out of seven rats on the pitch are on their feet.

Tarquin tries to dodge away from Thorek, Gromnir and Storaz only to be grabbed and shoved to the ground.
With a shoulder barge Flint backed up by Barak push Francis into the crowd on his way past down the field. Though lucky for him it was the home crowd who carry him to the dug out ready for the next drive. With Barak and Gotrimm as bodyguards. In the centre field Kurgin lives up to his name of Hammerfist by landing a blow against Charles senind him to the floor seeing stars.

The two gutter runners at the back have no intention of standing in the way of the granite landslide and clear out of the way especially with the rest of the team either off the pitch or on the ground, and promptly move out of the way.

Allowing Flint to run into the endzone to huge cheers from the fans. TOUCHDOWN 1-0!!

As the teams get ready for a new drive, Albert and Theo are still out cold though Cuthbert is back on his feet.
Grumblers line up with blockers on the line of scrimmage, again with slayers and blitzers to the wing, whilst the runners held back to intercept. Aristos have brought on their reserves with line rats and blitzers to the scrimmage line, gutters to the wings and throwers and gutters at the back.

There’s the kick and it’s pretty high on the flank of the scrimmage line, Sebastien runs and catches it mid-air.

Aristo’s start off the second quarter strong and wow, Bartholomew with a bone crushing blow sends Thorif to the injury pit. Taking advantage of the hole punched into the Grumbler’s line and swarm through into their central half. Sebastien throws to Barnaby at the centre of the swarm.
Grumblers double back and try to contain the Aristorat’s cage, Straldur throws himself into the midst looming over Barnaby.

Francis runs round the back of the dwarf blockade who grabs Barak allowing Henry to grapple him out of the way. Barnaby ducks away from Straldur and sprints out of the cage and over the touchline. TOUCHDOWN!!! 1-1.

With the players lining up once more, Albert is back up whilst Theo is still out. I can’t see what is going on but both coaches are speaking to the ref (Get the Ref).

Aristorats set up favouring one flank with a body of gutter runners on the flank behind a scrimmage of line rats and blitzers, keeping throwers and line rats in reserve. Grumblers respond in a 5-4-2 formation. There’s the kick and Flint moves to catch, and snatches it out of the air, cradling it snugly.

Gotrimm sends Tarquin to the dugout, down put not out, whilst Edward is left seeing stars by Thror. Grumblers send hit back, trying to punish the Aristos for breaking through.

Aristos swarm over Straldur knocking him to the floor, whilst Cuthbert trips Gromnir who hits the ground hard. Rest of team swarm through the gaps.

Grim shows how thick his skull is by headbutting Percy sending him head spinning to the dugouts. Flint watching the clock passes it to Barak, who catches it easily.

Albert delivers a side blow to Thror tumbling to the ground. By Sigmar! Straldur is being carried to the medics being taken out by Cuthbert. Whilst the rest of the team try to do what they can. But that is the half time whistle. Score standing at 1-1.

HALF TIME

With the teams coming back from their half time refreshments Henry, Percy and Theo have yet to regain consciousness.

There have been some rumblings in this subterranean stadium, but they seem to have settled (Change in weather perfect-perfect).

The Grumblers set up in a 4-4-3 set up with blockers spread thin on centre field scrimmage line. Aristorats respond favouring one side of the field, though keep gutters and throwers in reserve to force the Grumblers to stay stretched.
There’s the kick and it’s landing mid-centre field. The Aristos are throwing themselves against the grumblers to punch a hole, Francis runs and scoops up the ball and quick passes to Montgomery, who catches it easily, whilst the team form up around him.

Grumblers are trying to hem the Aristos in pushing them together. Piers is sent to the floor head spinning.
Aristos doing what rats do best and duck and dodge around the field, and with a leaping blow Tarquin brings Albrec down seeing stars.

The game has come down to a bit of a brawl and Grim is revelling in it knocking Bartholomew to the floor, and Storaz drops Albert hard to the floor.

Tarquin is handed the ball and is sprinting up the field through the gaps created by Cuthbert and Sebastien knocking Kurgin and Gotrimm to the ground. Archibald and Francis are hot on his heels as back up. It’s looking like the Grumblers are going to be falling behind.

Edward is being stretchered off the pitch and taken to the medic after a blow from Thorek. Gromnir throws a shoulder clearing a path, and Flint doubles back running full pelt round Francis jumping over his sweeping tail. In an attempt to delay the touch down he slams into Tarquin’s flank and shunts him to the floor, the ball bouncing loose. Flint’s efforts are valiant but looks to be just delaying the inevitable. But what is this? Barak is sprinting flat out across the field; he’s got the ball and by Sigmar he’s launched it down the field and has bounced into the Aristo’s end zone. The Grumblers are going crazy whilst the Aristo’s coach I staring dumbfounded. Grumblers have performed the miracle they needed.
Recovering quickly Barnaby sprints back and picks up the ball. Aristos are dodging around the field trying to keep their distance from the Grumblers, though Sebastien has been tackled to the ground by Thror. He’s not getting up any time soon in fact the stretcher bearers are carrying him to the injured box.

Gotrimm uses his stone fist on the head of Cuthbert and is carried off his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Whilst Gromnir shows why he’s called ‘Stoneshoulder’ and barges Piers down, and oooh you can hear the snap from here, that leg isn’t going to be the same again (-1 Ag & MNG).

Aristorats are getting low on players now and those on their feet are trying to keep their distance. Though Tarquin is out for revenge and leaps on Flint knocking him down to the ground.

Gromnir shunts Archibald into the crowd, who land some blows on him before he’s rescued. Though he’s out for the count. With a quick glance round Thorek, Albrec and Grim give Montgomery a good kicking. Though it doesn’t look like the referee has noticed.

Barnaby runs around the dwarf block and starts to run up the pitch, ball cradled under one arm. Bartholomew has been brought down by Storaz whilst he tries to get away and hits the pitch hard seeing stars.

The Grumblers land some blows on the standing Aristorts, whilst Thror bears down on Barnaby but fails to knock him to the ground.

Barnaby ducks away and continues to run down the wing. Francis tries to keep the way clear for Barnaby and knocks Kurgin to the floor.

Grim and Thror bear down on Barnaby hemming him against the side lines. Barnaby ducks under Grims arm, but is brought down by Thror grabbing his tail. The ball is loose. Flint moves and with a bit of fumbling secures the ball, trying to pass it to Storaz, but it’s too far and the ball scatters wildly.

There’s the final whistle, leaving the score tied 1-1. This has been a breath-taking game, though the Aristorat’s coach is shouting at the referee suggesting that Flint has some elf in his ancestry, unfortunately he was in ear shot of the Grumblers, I think Flint will be keeping note of that, Lord P better keep an eye out over his shoulder.
